Tips For Catering A Large Event With A Private Event Caterer

Catering a large event requires thoughtful attention to detail. Guests will not enjoy an event as much if there's bad food or not enough food. Providing great food service will ensure guests can focus on the celebration instead of rumbling stomachs. Use these tips for catering a large event with a private event caterer

1. Pick a theme

Follow a cohesive flavor palette by picking a theme for the cuisine.

One common theme follows a cultural cuisine, such as American, Mexican, Indian, Italian, or Polish. Don't be afraid to fuse two cuisines together, especially in a marriage of two cultures.

You can also pick cuisine that matches the party theme, such as carnival food, ballpark food, luau, and tea parties.

Once you pick a theme, it narrows down your selection, making decisions much easier.

2. Consider all diets

For large events, you want to ensure everyone feels included. To make people feel included, include options for all diets. For example, you may want to include a vegan option or a gluten-free option. For a health-conscious crowd, you can include healthier options, such as fish, vegetables, and fruit. Label all foods that adhere to specialized diets so that people know what foods they can enjoy.

3. Provide snacks in between meals

All events include time for mingling before and after serving food. During this time, you should leave some snacks out for people to munch on, such as a charcuterie board or bowls of trail mix and popcorn. It's also a good idea to provide some snacks after dinner, too. Many weddings will supply pizza or fast food at the end of the night to absorb the alcohol.

4. Personalize

In order to make your catering truly memorable, personalize your meal options. For example, you can decorate cupcakes with a company logo. You can also include foods related to the industry. For weddings, you can include a picture of the bride and groom on the cake plates and napkins. For a wedding, the couple can also provide what they ate on their first date or one of the first meals they cooked each other. Cute tidbits make the food all that more tasty and memorable.

Catering an event may seem easy, but you don't want to leave anything up to chance. If you find the right event caterer, they can help you with the details and maybe even give you a couple of ideas on how to elevate the catering to the next level.
