Make Your Coffee Shop Special With These Ideas

With so many coffee shops opening up these days, you really need a way to set yours apart. You want your coffee shop to be a place where people not only buy coffee but truly enjoy themselves. So, how do you go about making your coffee shop special? Here are some ideas you can use as inspiration.

Offer live music.

Bars use live music to draw a crowd, so why not do the same at your coffee shop? Look for performers who have a quiet, melodious way about them. This seems to fit the mellow vibe of a coffee shop pretty well. At some coffee shops, folk music fits really well. You may also want to find groups who offer a cappella performances. The best times to have live music are often weekend mornings when guests have longer to linger and listen.

Display local art.

Another way to set your coffee shop apart is by displaying local art. This could be art for sale from local artists, or it could even be pieces that you purchase from local artists specifically for display. If you can find some coffee-themed art, that's even better. A painting that shows a coffee mug steaming, or a drawing of coffee beans, would look awesome on your walls.

Design your own coffee beverages.

Sure, lots of customers will expect to order the classics, like cappuccinos and lattes. You really need to have these on your menu to satisfy customer expectations. But you can also get creative and invent some of your very own coffee drinks. Try blending together various ingredients and concocting some of your own blends. Even if you only come up with two or three to add to the menu, many customers will be excited to try something different.

Offer coffee and food pairings.

People pair wine and beer with food, so why not coffee? Come up with a few ideal food pairings. For instance, you may decide one coffee pairs well with a scone. Another might pair well with strawberries and chocolate. Sell the coffee and the paired foods together as one order.

If you use one or more of these ideas, it should make your coffee shop feel like a more special place. Not only will guests be excited to visit, but your staff will likely also be excited to try something new and contribute to such a unique venue.
